Adhan Paper provides a mobile companion app, public support website, and related cloud services for the Adhan Paper physical e-paper prayer time device. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share personal information when you use the Adhan Paper app, website, device setup flows, support channels, and related services.

Contact and Controller Information

Adhan Paper is responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy. We do not currently have a designated Data Protection Officer. For privacy questions, data requests, or concerns, contact us at info@adhanpaper.com. For app support and account deletion requests, contact support@adhanpaper.com.

Scope

This policy applies to website visitors, app users, customers, testers, and people who contact us for support. It covers the Adhan Paper mobile app, adhanpaper.com, account functionality, marketplace features, device configuration, notifications, and related backend services.

Information We Collect

The app and related services may collect or process:

We do not intentionally collect date of birth, national identification numbers, biometric identifiers, health data, payment card numbers, or browser fingerprinting data. Payment method details are handled by Google Play and are not stored by Adhan Paper.

How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

Legal Bases

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information based on one or more legal bases, including performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of the security and integrity of our services.

Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell personal data. We may share or process data with service providers that help us operate Adhan Paper, including Google Sign-In, Firebase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play Billing, backend and cloud hosting providers, GitHub Pages for public website hosting, Microsoft 365 for business email and support communications, and other providers needed for security, operations, support, and legal compliance.

Where appropriate, we use contractual safeguards such as data processing agreements to require service providers to protect personal information and process it only for authorized purposes.

Data Storage and International Transfers

Personal information may be stored or processed in the Netherlands, Ireland, the United States, and other locations where our service providers operate. When international transfers are required, we use appropriate safeguards where applicable and work with reputable providers that maintain data protection and security measures.

Data Protection Measures

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including HTTPS/TLS for data transmitted between the app, backend services, Firebase, Google services, Microsoft 365, and other providers where applicable. Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel or service providers with a legitimate need. We also use account-based access controls, monitoring, and review of access where appropriate.

Local communication with the physical Adhan Paper device may occur over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or local network connections for setup and sync.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the app and related services, support users, maintain security, handle purchases and refunds, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Some purchase, billing, security, or legal records may be retained for a limited period after an account deletion request where retention is legally or technically required.

Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Adhan Paper app account and associated data by following the instructions on the Account and Data Deletion page. Deleting your Adhan Paper app account does not delete your Google account.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before withdrawal. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact info@adhanpaper.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The public Adhan Paper website currently uses static pages and does not intentionally set non-essential cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics tracking cookies. Website hosting providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address and browser information to operate and protect the site. If we add non-essential cookies or analytics later, we will update our disclosures and request consent where required.

For more information, see our Cookie Policy.

Children

Adhan Paper is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and respond.

Data Breach Notification

If we become aware of a data breach affecting personal information, we will investigate, take steps to reduce harm, and notify affected users and relevant authorities where required by applicable law, without undue delay.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, industry practices, or business operations. When we make significant changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
